Close is built for sales teams whose reps spend the day on the phone. Calling, SMS, email and a power dialer live inside the CRM, and Close's AI agent, Chloe, can call and qualify leads on every plan. The catch is the price jump: workflows and the power dialer start on Growth at $99 per user per month on annual billing, nearly three times the $35 Essentials plan.
This review is desk research from Close's pricing page, its plan comparison and FAQ, its calling and integrations pages, and the pricing pages of the alternatives, all as listed on October 17, 2026. WireRanked did not use Close hands-on, so call quality, dialer speed and Chloe's conversations are not assessed here.
Is Close worth it?
Close is worth it when the phone is the main selling channel. Built-in calling, email and SMS come with every plan, the power dialer arrives on Growth and the predictive dialer on Scale, and call recordings are kept for 30 days on Solo and Essentials, 90 days on Growth and without limit on Scale.
It is harder to justify when calls are an occasional task. A team that mostly emails and manages a pipeline pays for dialing depth it will not use, and it meets the same Essentials-to-Growth jump the moment it needs automated workflows. In that case Pipedrive's Growth plan, at $39 per seat billed annually, covers automations and email sequences for less.
Close pricing explained
Close lists four plans per user per month. On annual billing, which is the default view, Solo is $9, Essentials $35, Growth $99 and Scale $139. On monthly billing the same plans cost $19, $49, $109 and $149. Each plan also includes AI credits per user per month: 500 on Solo, 1,000 on Essentials, 1,500 on Growth and 2,000 on Scale, with team pools capped at 10,000, 15,000 and 20,000 a month on the three team plans. Close says credits refresh monthly with no rollover.
Close describes its pricing as three parts: seats, usage-based calling and SMS, and AI credits used by Chloe and other AI features. Monthly subscriptions can be upgraded, downgraded or canceled anytime. Annual plans can be upgraded as a team grows, but downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the billing term.
The Essentials-to-Growth jump
Essentials and Solo both say workflows are not included. Growth adds automated workflows, Chloe in workflows, the power dialer, custom activities and bulk email, and it raises connected email accounts from 3 to 10. The per-user step is $64 on annual billing ($35 to $99) and $60 on monthly billing ($49 to $109).
By WireRanked arithmetic from the list prices, a 3-person team pays $105 a month on Essentials against $297 on Growth at annual rates. At 5 users the gap is $175 against $495, and at 10 users it is $350 against $990. On monthly billing the same teams pay $147 against $327, $245 against $545 and $490 against $1,090. Decide whether workflows and the power dialer are needed in year one before choosing a plan.
Trial, guarantee and Solo
Close offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card and no contracts, and the trial includes calling and AI credits. If you do not upgrade, Close says the account pauses and the data stays available for a limited period before deletion. A 30-day money-back guarantee applies after purchase. Solo is limited to one user and 10,000 leads and excludes workflows, so it works for a founder testing outbound, not for a team.
What calling really costs
Calling and SMS usage is passed through at cost. Close says most outbound calls cost around $0.02 a minute and phone numbers start at about $1 a month. The Call Assistant add-on is $50 a month plus $0.02 a minute, and additional organizations cost $50 per organization per month, with one included free on Growth and Scale.
Here is a worked example using only those stated rates. It is WireRanked arithmetic, not a Close quote. Five reps on Growth cost $495 a month at annual rates. If each rep places 1,000 outbound minutes a month at about $0.02 a minute, calling adds roughly $100. Five numbers at about $1 each add roughly $5. That puts the team near $600 a month before SMS, calls above the typical rate, extra AI usage or the Call Assistant add-on.
Dialers by plan
Every plan includes built-in calling. Growth adds the power dialer, which Close says queues the next call the moment one ends. Scale adds the predictive dialer, live call coaching, role-based access and permissions, lead visibility rules and unlimited call recording retention. Close's own guidance is that teams whose reps spend most of the day prospecting and calling usually fit Scale, and that many start on Growth and move up.
Chloe and AI credits
Close says Chloe access is free on every plan and that you pay only for the work she does: she uses AI credits plus telephony. According to Close, Chloe can call leads, qualify prospects in live conversations, book meetings, update CRM records after calls, enrich lead data and answer pipeline questions. Growth and Scale unlock Chloe inside workflows. Because credits do not roll over, size the plan to a typical month rather than a peak one.
Email and integrations
Close's email comparison lists two-way email sync, templates, snippets, open tracking and email scheduling. Connected email accounts are 3 on Solo and Essentials and 10 on Growth and Scale, and bulk email starts on Growth. Close's integrations directory includes Calendly, Gmail, HubSpot, Microsoft 365, Claude and ChatGPT, among others. Close does not state a total integration count, so check the specific tools you need.
Close pros and cons
Pros
1. Calling inside the CRM: built-in calling, email and SMS on every plan, with power and predictive dialers higher up.
2. Chloe on every plan: access is free, and work is paid from included AI credits plus telephony.
3. Low-risk start: a 14-day trial with no card and a 30-day money-back guarantee after purchase.
Cons
1. Steep jump to Growth: workflows and the power dialer cost $99 per user annually against $35 on Essentials.
2. Usage on top: calling, numbers, SMS and extra AI usage add to the seat price.
3. Annual lock-in: downgrades and cancellations on annual plans wait until the end of the term.
Who should buy Close, and who should skip it
Buy Close when reps live on the phone and the manager wants calls, texts, emails and deals in one record. Growth is the realistic plan for most outbound teams because it combines workflows, the power dialer and bulk email; Scale is for high-volume teams that need the predictive dialer and tighter permissions.
Skip Close if the team mostly emails and manages deals, if workflows are needed but Growth's price is out of reach, or if the CRM must also serve delivery and operations teams. Those buyers will usually be better served by a pipeline-first or board-based CRM.
Alternatives to weigh
Pipedrive places automations and nurturing sequences on Growth at $39 per seat per month billed annually or $49 monthly, a cheaper route to workflows for teams that call less. monday CRM suits teams that also run delivery on boards; email sequences start on Pro at $28 per seat yearly, with a 3-seat minimum. folk suits small relationship-led teams that do not live on the phone, with email sequences on Premium at $48 per member per month billed yearly.

The bottom line
Close is one of the clearest choices for phone-heavy selling, with calling, SMS, dialers and Chloe inside the CRM. Budget for Growth at $99 per user annually if you need workflows or the power dialer, then add calling usage on top. If the phone is not central, a cheaper pipeline CRM will likely serve you better.
