folk is a relationship CRM for small teams that sell through networks, introductions and follow-ups rather than a high-volume sales floor. It captures contacts from LinkedIn, email, calendar and WhatsApp, adds AI assistants and simple pipelines, and prices per member. Its limits are real, though: email sequences and dashboards need Premium, and messages and enrichment run on monthly caps.
This review is desk research from folk's pricing page, help center and mobile app page, plus the pricing pages of the alternatives, all as listed on October 17, 2026. WireRanked did not use folk hands-on, so contact capture, AI output and email results are not assessed here.
Is folk worth it?
folk is worth it when the work is keeping track of people: who introduced whom, what was said last, and who needs a nudge this week. Standard includes pipeline management, email campaigns, contact enrichment, AI assistants, magic fields, the LinkedIn extension and email, calendar and WhatsApp sync. For a small team that lives in its inbox and on LinkedIn, that is a sensible set of tools at a moderate per-member price.
It is a weaker fit for a team that needs structured, rules-driven selling. folk's pricing page lists a Workflow Assistant with monthly caps, but it does not describe the kind of trigger-and-condition automation that sales-ops teams build in larger CRMs. Phone-heavy teams will also find more calling tools elsewhere.
folk pricing explained
folk prices per member per month. On yearly billing, Standard is $24 ($288 billed yearly), Premium is $48 ($576 billed yearly) and Enterprise starts from $80 ($960 billed yearly). On monthly billing, Standard is $30, Premium $60 and Enterprise from $100. folk's help center gives the same Standard and Premium figures. Members are unlimited on every plan, and the bill moves with the member count: folk says it prorates the price when you add or remove members.
What a small team pays
These totals are WireRanked arithmetic from folk's per-member prices. One member on Standard costs $288 a year on yearly billing or $30 a month on monthly billing; on Premium it is $576 a year or $60 a month. Three members cost $864 a year on Standard or $1,728 on Premium at yearly rates, and $90 or $180 a month on monthly billing. Five members cost $1,440 a year on Standard or $2,880 on Premium, or $150 or $300 a month on monthly billing.
Trial and billing terms
folk activates a 2-week free trial with all Premium features and does not ask for a credit card. If you do not upgrade at the end, folk says it blocks the account, though the data is not immediately deleted; you can request one more week or upgrade to regain access. folk accepts only credit cards, gives 7 days to fix a failed payment before temporarily blocking the account, and bills each workspace separately.
What you lose on Standard
Premium adds custom objects and deals, email sequences, workspace roles, dashboards, API access, more credits for enrichment, messages, account sync and AI fields, and the full history of interactions. That makes the Standard-to-Premium decision simple to frame: if the team needs automated multi-step email follow-ups or a reporting dashboard, Standard is not enough.
The caps also double. folk lists 2,000 messages per member per month on Standard and 5,000 on Premium, 500 email finds a month against 1,000, a magic field allowance of 2,000 a month against 5,000, and a Workflow Assistant allowance of 1,500 a month against 10,000. Accounts sync rises from 1 to 5 per member, and custom sending domains from 1 to 3. Enterprise sets custom limits on all of these.
When a team outgrows those limits, folk's help center gives two routes: upgrade to Premium or request a custom Enterprise plan. Plan usage for the month, and the date the limit renews, appear in the workspace settings, so it is easy to see how close a team is running to its caps before the bill changes.
What Enterprise adds
Enterprise starts from $80 per member per month on yearly billing. It adds custom limits for enrichment, messages, account sync and AI fields, security controls for internal and sensitive interactions, group-level permissions, custom integrations, priority support and 1:1 onboarding sessions with a dedicated account manager. Google sign-in is listed for SSO on every plan, so Enterprise is mainly about limits, permissions and support rather than login options.
Contact capture and the mobile app
Capture is folk's strongest theme. Its pricing page lists folkX, a Chrome extension, alongside business card scanning and voice notes. The mobile app, Contacts by folk, is available on Android and iOS according to folk's help center, and the pricing page lists Mobile app as a key feature across Standard, Premium and Enterprise. folk's mobile page says the app syncs people from the phone, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and business cards and supports talk-to-text notes.
AI assistants and magic fields
folk lists several assistants: a Research Assistant capped at 200 a month on Standard and Premium, a Workflow Assistant, a Follow-up Assistant and a Recap Assistant, plus relationship intelligence. Magic fields use AI to fill custom fields, with monthly caps by plan. Treat the caps as the practical limit on how much AI work the team can push through folk each month, and check usage in workspace settings, where folk says plan usage and renewal dates appear.
Integrations and data access
Standard lists 5,000+ integrations, and the feature table includes Zapier and Make apps, a REST API and MCP. API access appears as a Premium addition on the plan cards, so teams that plan to script imports or sync data with other systems should budget for Premium. Import and export by CSV and auto-merging of duplicate contacts are listed among the key features.
folk pros and cons
Pros
1. Strong capture: LinkedIn extension, WhatsApp and email sync, business card scanning and a mobile app.
2. Unlimited members: every plan prices per member with no cap on team size.
3. Easy trial: two weeks with Premium features and no credit card.
Cons
1. Sequences and dashboards need Premium, at $48 per member per month yearly or $60 monthly.
2. Monthly caps on messages, email finds, magic fields and assistants, set by plan.
3. Hard trial end: the account is blocked if you do not upgrade, and only credit cards are accepted.
Who should buy folk, and who should skip it
Buy folk if your pipeline is built on relationships: agencies winning work through referrals, founders raising or partnering, consultants tracking a client network, or investor-relations teams. Standard suits teams that mainly need capture, notes and simple pipelines; Premium suits teams that also want sequences, dashboards and API access.
Skip folk if reps spend the day on the phone, if you need rules-based workflow automation across many objects, or if you want one CRM to run delivery and operations as well. In those cases a calling-first or board-based CRM is a better match.
Alternatives to weigh

Close suits phone-heavy selling, with Essentials at $35 and Growth at $99 per user per month billed annually. monday CRM suits teams that also run operations on boards, with Standard at $17 and Pro at $28 per seat yearly and a 3-seat minimum.

The bottom line

If your deals depend on calls or complex automation, look at the alternatives first.
Frequently asked questions
Which folk plan has email sequences?
Premium. folk lists email sequences as a Premium addition, together with dashboards, custom objects and deals, workspace roles and API access. Premium costs $48 per member per month billed yearly, which is $576 a year, or $60 on monthly billing. Standard includes email campaigns and pipeline management but not sequences.
What does a 5-person team pay for folk Premium?
By WireRanked arithmetic, five members on Premium cost $2,880 a year on yearly billing, which is five times folk's $576 yearly price per member, or $300 a month on monthly billing. On Standard the same team pays $1,440 a year or $150 a month. folk prorates when members are added or removed.
Does folk have a mobile app?
Yes. folk's help center says Contacts by folk, the folk mobile app, is available on Android and iOS, and the pricing page lists Mobile app as a key feature on Standard, Premium and Enterprise. folk's mobile page says the app can sync contacts from the phone, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and business cards.
How many emails can I send with folk?
folk lists 2,000 messages per member per month on Standard and 5,000 on Premium, with custom limits on Enterprise. Standard includes one custom sending domain and Premium includes three. Teams that send large campaigns should model monthly volume per member before choosing Standard, because the cap applies to each member.
What happens when the folk trial ends?
folk's trial lasts two weeks, includes Premium features and needs no credit card. If you do not upgrade, folk says it blocks the account, although the data is not immediately deleted. You can request a one-week extension or upgrade to regain access. folk accepts credit cards only for payment.
Does folk have workflow automation?
folk lists a Workflow Assistant with an allowance of 1,500 a month on Standard and 10,000 on Premium, plus email sequences on Premium and Zapier and Make apps. Its pricing page does not describe trigger-and-condition automation of the kind larger sales CRMs offer, so teams that rely on complex rules should test that need during the trial.
